April Currently

Joining Farley's April  Currently Linky Party. We so look forward to sharing and exploring what a blog friends are CURRENTLY doing.

  • LISTENING- My guys (hubby and two sons) are Walking Dead fanatics. They look forward to this time every Sunday evening. I do not like all that zombie stuff, so I retreat to my room for a little ME time. Even though I don't care for the show, I love hearing their thoughts and opinions.
  • LOVING - This last day of Spring Break has been so wonderful. The hubby and I bustled about the kitchen preparing our Easter family meal. It was just the four of us and I breathed every moment.
  • THINKING- lesson plans anyone?
  • WANTING- My wardrobe needs an infusion of color. I do believe I see a shopping trip in my future.
  • NEEDING- Loved the two great books to keep me company during the break. Now, I need a few new ones. Any suggestions?
  • ADVICE- I am still working on this advice myself. I am trying to look at the things I have accomplished and not the buckets of things I haven't.

  1. I am so with you on the "thinking" except I am already back at work and still thinking "WHAT am I doing this week?!" Can we say shut down?! Also books- The Opportunist is really good. The second book is called Dirty Red. The third book isn't out yet. I am not sure what kinds of books you like but I love that one. And Gone Girl was really good. Oh and High Heel Murder Mysteries by Gemma Halliday. Huge series. Hysterical. Chick lit!

    1. Thanks so much Gina for the awesome reading list. And I am so glad I am not the only educator in the non plan boat.

  2. I used to not be into Walking Dead, but once I started watching... I'm hooked! The season finale was great and of course it left off at a spot that's going to KILL me to wait until October for! I hope you're able to find some time to spruce up your closet... I need to do the same... I've got so many different DARK colors but I need some pinks, blues, yellows, greens, oranges!! :)

  3. Today is my last day of Spring Break and I am SAD! It was rainy and cold most of break. Can I have a do over? I agree about sprucing up your closet - maybe I will get out and do a little shopping for my dull closet. My oldest son tells me I need to put more color in my life. I will spend this afternoon trying to figure out what I am going to teach tomorrow.

  4. I am hoping to read the 4th book of The Giver series. Yeah, it's technically a kids book, but I don't care! I loved that series.

I definitely agree with your advice- look at what you have accomplished instead of thinking about all the things you didn't! Sometimes that is really hard!

  5. Hope you enjoyed your Spring Break - I'm so jealous...we don't have ours until the END of April! Gahhh! But at least it should be nice and fully Spring by the time it gets here :)

Ahhh to have the time to sit and read a good book - is there anything more magical? What books did you just finish?
I would recommend: Memory Keeper's Daughter, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, The Lost Memoirs of Jane Austen

    Happy reading! :)

  6. I can't wait until summer until I can read for fun again (all I read now are textbooks for grad school... yuck!)

I'm glad to have found your blog and all of the app reviews. I teach in a 1-1 iPad school. I look forward to seeing more of your posts!

    1. I am with you on the reading for fun. The only reading I get in these days is in bed, but then I don't think I get much reading done. I will wake up with my nook propped on my husband's back and wonder if I really read anything at all.

Happy to hear you are enjoying the app reviews. Rae has a 1-1 iPad classroom. I only have one iPad and wishing for more. *sigh* One day!!!!

    1. Copy the picture and pull it up in PowerPoint. Make sure your page is set to portrait in orientation. Then use a text box to put in your responses. When saving it, you need to save type as a PNG. You should get a pop up that asks about the slides. You want to save only the current slide.

      Hope that helps.
