My Fitness Pal Part 2

We just didn't feel that the Fitness Pal app could be covered in one blog post, so I'm continuing with it this weekend. If you aren't familiar with what I'm referring to, check out the previous post about the app. The images below are from both the iPad app and iPhone app, which work together along with the website to track your progress.

I'll be quite honest with you, I love this app! I've done the Atkins Diet, Weight Watchers, went to a Homeopathic doctor, you name it. I never just flat out counted calories until this app. It works wonders for me! Which in the beginning I thought was really sad as I should have known that counting my calories would make a difference. DUH! I love that it is with me at all times on my phone and is VERY easy to keep up with.

I find that calorie counting is almost like the extreme couponing of dieting. It is almost a game to maximize your food intake without exceeding your goal. I will often sit around and plan one of my meals that I want to have and then I can successfully manage the rest of my day. I do this often especially if I'll be going out to eat. Ok...enough of the confessionals, I'll tell you more about my journey in another post at a later time. On to the good stuff...

Food Log (iPad Version)

Total Nutrients (iPad Version)
*On this you can see that my sodium is a KILLER. However I give snaps to myself for not blowing out my sugar. It is a delicate balance to be honest.

Daily Graph

Adding Exercise (iPad Version)

*You will see my Fitbit One is synced to My Fitness Pal. Stay tuned as that will be featured later. I can't wait to share it with you guys.

Status Feed

Friend's Weight Loss (iPad Version)

Your Weight Loss
*I had to black out my weight. I'll share when I have some good progress. :)

Weekly Calories
*I started on the actual first of the month.

Overall Weekly Nutrition Facts
*Again sodium and sugar are blown out of the water. It happens and is a work in progress.

I hope you enjoyed being able to see a bit more of what My Fitness Pal can do. If you like seeing statistics, then this app is a really good tool. You can measure by day and  week. You can see information in list, bar graph, and even pie graph form. I like being able to measure what stuff I intake. It's not always pretty, but you can find the areas you struggle with and improve. I'll be honest it is a tough battle, but this kind of helps you know what you are doing wrong. It is great having friends and encouraging them. When you lose weight it shows up in the status feed and your friends can pat you on the back there too!  Although you don't see it in the above pictures, as you lose weight, the amount of calories you intake does decrease. So it is an app that works to help you progress even further. This is an app I really recommend if you are trying to watch your weight.

Don't forget that you can join us on this journey by friending us through the app!
